2026 sees us hosting a series of nature focussed events for all ages throughout the year
Navigation Workshop
A hands-on navigation workshop teaching practical map and compass skills. Participants will learn how to take and follow bearings, measure distance using pacing, and navigate safely across varied terrain.
Set in an ideal hill and valley location, this interactive session is suitable for beginners and improvers, with plenty of opportunity to practice and ask questions.

Spring Walk and Lunch
Join us for a gentle, guided spring walk through the woodlands and bluebell-strewn slopes of Coppet Hill, led by local nature enthusiast Jamie. Discover the rich wildlife and seasonal wonders that make this landscape so special, while enjoying the sights, sounds, and scents of spring in full bloom.
After the walk, gather together in the Purcombe Barn for a seasonal lunch featuring local, seasonal produce.

Dawn Chorus Walk
Experience one of nature’s greatest annual performances — the dawn chorus — as birds across Britain greet the morning with song. Guided by our local bird expert, Luke, participants will enjoy an early morning walk to listen, learn, and immerse themselves in the sounds of spring.
Afterwards, we’ll gather for a warming hot drink and bacon croissant, the perfect reward for an early start.

Nature Weekend
Join us for a relaxed and inspiring family-friendly wildlife weekend in the beautiful Dorset countryside.
From Friday 3 to Sunday 5 July, Coppet Hill comes alive with nature. Camp under the stars, enjoy a BBQ in the barn, and take part in a full programme of hands-on activities designed for all ages.
Wake early for bird ringing, discover moths and butterflies, explore the pond, listen to local wildlife experts, and end your day with unforgettable stargazing.
This is a small, friendly event—perfect for families, nature lovers, and anyone looking to slow down and reconnect with the outdoors.
